Raising a family in Marina, I am heavily involved in building up things that make our town thrive- parks, our library, the arts and better opportunities for school children.

It’s one thing to make a suggestion about improving community, and quite another to mobilize and empower volunteers. I am proud of having worked and led volunteers to #BuildCommunity in Marina.

I am fueled by harnessing that power and using my skill set and love for the town I call home to make sure all are represented and heard.

Residents know me and they trust me to listen, collaborate and act in their best interest.

  • Helped lead successful citizen’s initiative to place half-cent sales tax, transient tax on hotels and allowing dispensaries on 2018 ballot. Has since added an estimated $2 million to city general fund that has helped Marina’s budget stay aflot and strong amid the COVID-19 economic hit.

  • Advocated for public safety, addition of Marina firefighter staffing and purchase of fire engines and equipment.

  • Led the Board of the Marina Library to open an all-volunteer bookstore, Friends Community Bookstore in Marina. Operated by amazing volunteers.

  • Coordinated social media and traditional marketing and for many Marina organizations and events, including the Friends of the Marina Library, Marina Tree & Garden Club, Marina Youth Arts.

“My parents, hard working immigrants from Mexico, had little time for political action, but did always insist that we all attend the PTA meetings to have a voice in our education. That's what I've been teaching my girls, their friends, the teens I bring in to volunteer alongside us.

Engage in community in order to have a say.

Getting to know my community, my neighbors and advocating for their needs is central to my motivation to do more in being able to formally represent them.

I am that voice of thoughtful community knowledge, bridge building and collaboration. Residents and neighbors know me and TRUST me to work for them, for a better Marina.”
